The ring was set up at Michael's of Eighth Avenue and the card consisted of seven bouts, five of which featured guys from the Brooklyn Boxing Club. The BBC won four out of those five matches. In my opinion we should have won the match we lost but we should have lost one of the matches we won.
Donnie Renazzio won his match in the125 pound class. This was his third fight, all with the same guy. Donnie (who looks like he's 21 but he's really only 13) won the first but lost the second of these matches. It was a pretty even fight but Donnie clearly won on points. This was a three-round fight.

In the heavyweight division, BBC's Mike Dietrich beat this Big Guy from up in York, but I think the decision is arguable. Mike just didn't look like the 3 time National Heavyweight Champion that he is. Maybe it's because only four days before this fight he was out in Los Angeles where he won the Golden Gloves Heavyweight title with a first round knockout. He really looked tired to me all night and it seemed that the guys from York might have been right when they claimed that if this fight had been held anywhere else except Glen Burnie, Mike would have lost his fight.

On the other hand, BBC's other Mike, Mike Paschall (156-pound class) lost a decision to his archrival and long-time nemesis, Ismail Irvin. In a way you could say Mike had it coming because he was really talking a lot of trash. Entering the ring with an entourage including some guy prancing around the ring with Mike's Maryland State Champion belt (attempting to intimidate Ismail), Paschall had the crowd in a frenzy (accented by his outrageous red fringe trunks). Mike took it to Ismail all five rounds but Ismail had been there before and gave as good as he got. As a result he walked out of the ring wearing the Championship belt. Could have gone either way, but I thought Mike had the edge.
